PRODUCTION BLOG/EDITING

Editing Blog

We have started to edit the ad since we finished it on October 8th. My phone, and laptop was used for the filming, and I also brought up the idea to use "CapCut". To be completely honest I've never used an app so easy to use . The software aids with the smooth movement of the commercial's scenes. We could add any editing tools we need.  Aligning the scenes was really easy, and most edits were breeze to do  . We measured the length of the commercial once all the footage had been combined. We  made an effort to shorten the scenes because it was a little longer than necessary but it was still missing some of the main components.   We then decided to add sound. We removed some of the other background noises and replaced them with more appropriate non-diegetic noises. This included a constant gentle rain sound that covered up some of the annoying digested sounds. Then Dezira  coordinated the timing of the sequences with the help of Makayla. They  added the sound of passing automobiles, the gas station door opening, and coordinating the rain noises to the soundtrack. At the very end we also added a  voiceover for Coca-Cola. One of my friends gave me a hand and said the slogan that we used for the commercial.  The reason we did this is because it added a lot to the majority of the film. These noises improved the commercial's quality. When necessary, all these non-diegetic noises ultimately gave emphasis to the specific message we trying to provide. This included the Coca-Cola slogan that we even made appear at the end of the commercial. Overall I hope all these edits helped us convey the message that Coca Cola is "The taste of relief".
