Planning Blog: Location, Participants, Health, Schedule

Image
Location: Mainly my house. Will feature rooms like my room. My Kitchen. My living Room. Mainly sections of my house. Make scenery feel compact, adds suspenseful effect. Participants:  There will be two main participants. It will include me (playing teen) and my sister (playing Mom). Small cast less spoiling and less revelation.  Health: In the film itself health will be prioritized. We'll make sure not to do silly stunts. We'll stay very safe. As always, safety comes first and this film will try to stay by that. Schedule: We'll try to follow a special schedule.                          March 6: Start making dark blinds which we'll add dark effect to windows.                         March 9: Start Thoroughly practicing's shots/making a layout.                         March 13: We'll start collecting essential crops and costumes.                          March 16: First shots will be attempted, just trying to get the hang.                         March 2

Planning Blog: Title Design

Image
● Font: The opening credits of my film will appear in a digital/mathematical font that appears to be “typed” into the near center of the screen. Easy to see. ● Contrast: Some credits, though few, will be embedded in the setting. For example, credits will be written on the TV, or the blank walls. Avoids difficulty seeing. ● Working Title: The title of this film is likely to be “The Vanished”. Remains suspenseful. ● It will be Bold Face Font and in all Caps: SOMETHING ALONG THIS STYLE. Highlights title.  ● Titles will all be “Typed” on to the screen. They will come on as being typed and disappear with a either a fade or with a change of scenery. Adds neatness. ● Titles will disappear after 2 or 3 seconds. Makes it smooth. ● Depending on the color of the scene I will be using Black and White Font. All Mixed. It will look something like this: DIRECTED BY: TEO BALSAMO . Create visually pleasing title. ● The first name of the person who hold the job will be 2 sizes larger than the rest of th

As these title cards are popping up there are many main images prioritized. Such as the family during their daily life in a bad condition. The bad condition includes a messy home, and messy clothing. These images convey the struggle of the family. The images carry a connotation of a poor family, living and struggling together. This then helps with the plot. The plot is basically about this poor family, working for a wealthy family. This then helps them better their situation, in which it all turns into a mess eventually. The film establishes a feeling of the genre from the outset because of the music used, and the setting. It's not the best, consider

Title Research: The Conjuring

Image
Conjuring is the title of the film I obtained from artofthetitle.com. So, what titles appear during the opening sequences. Interestingly, there were no opening titles in the film. However, we dive right into the names, with the "Conjuring" title appearing at the conclusion. What visuals are shown first in the opening sequence. Images concentrating on families and newspaper articles were prioritized. This is an illustration of a narrative. What associations do these photos have. There are many close-up shots of images and newspapers, as well as a fast speed, tense music, and continual shot changing/rapid pace. How does the film establish a sense of genre from the start. They use fast-paced dramatic music and change shots frequently. All of this creates an uncomfortable and fast vibe, creating a suspenseful sensation. What measures are employed to guarantee that the film appeals to its intended audience. For starters, it has a dramatic/unsettling effect on the audience. This he

Title Research: Watch the Titles Website

To research a bit more, Dazira and used the website www.watchthetitles.com. This website displays behind-the-scenes content, which allows you to see the process and ideas behind movie creations. There is a wide variety of short title sequence clips. In particular to our genre of suspense, there were a few reoccurring factors that my partner and took notice of. For one there is the layout of how the names appeared on the screen. There is also the diegetic music that goes with it. My partner and noticed what genre movie this was right away and we thought it was important to take note of that for our movie title sequence. Another intriguing fact about this website is that it not only shows movies, but it also shows television shows and animations. In which it is providing elaborate information on the many different aspects of entertainment. At first, my group and weren't entirely sure about what a title sequence was, but after some research, we see that it is an important factor that

Movie Convention Research: Scream 5

Image
What elements (Conventions) of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? Now scream is a saga however I found that all these movies including Scream 5 follow a suspense genre. Follows a number of clichés that I'll try to replicate. In this case there is also a lot of gloomy lighting. Gives you an uneasy sense. Lot of outfits or locations. Which give you an uneasy feeling. We also have various special effects that enrich the film, as well as quick camera changes. All produce a frightening imagery. Tilt shots, for example, increase excitement, as can uneven camera tracking views. Which cause nervousness, and low or distant viewpoints to create a suspenseful/scary image. More effect. What elements (Conventions) of the genre did the movie have that you like? Now believe it or not I liked that this film had almost a close contact with the killer but stayed very mysterious (acting) and hidden at most times. More suspense. This caused a more horror effect w

Movie Convention Research: Megan

Image
What elements (Conventions) of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? Megan is a new suspense film that adheres to numerous conventions that I will attempt to employ. Highly would recommend. Seemed replicable. We have several special effects in the editing that enhance to the film, as well as rapid shot transitions. Create a scarier impression. Tilt  shots, for example, add excitement, tracking views with unsteady cameras. Which produce nerves. Also low or far angles to create a suspenseful/scary impression. Also, there is frequently dark lighting. Which causes an unknown feeling, and numerous clothes or places. Which generate unsettling feelings What elements (Conventions) of the genre did the movie have that you like? I honestly loved the effects of the film. For instance there were many times where we see Megan dash by or creep up through behind. Definitely enhanced with effects. Cause suspense, I'd definitely do something similar in my film. F

Movie Convention Research: Smile

Image
What elements (Conventions) of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? Smile is a suspense/horror genre which follows many conventions that I will try to use. In the Editing side we have many special effects. Which add to the film. And rapid shot transitioning. Cause a scarier effect. Additionally there's often dark lighting. Which cause unknown. Genre Selection Blog

Genres Genres we had in mind were 1. Mystery 2. Suspense  3. Comedy Mystery is very similar to genres like suspense and thriller. Usually it will contain a crime solving puzzle filled with mystery. This genre has a very unknown vibe and will mostly base off a mystery. Some concepts include a crime, or maybe an unknown topic of sorts. Most mysteries genres base of a concept of mystery as titled and some sort of mischief. After plenty of research on these genres above, suspense is a great genre. This genre can have very on edge opening scene to watch. Suspenseful movies also often have good plots. This will hopefully leave the audience at the edge of their seats. Additionally is based of a mysterious and unknown vibe. This concept is great as it will have a darker effect. Comedy has a more humorous approach. It's goal is to be funny. It will have many things like absurdity, jokes, and overall will be comical. Comedy is often easy to replicate however take lots and lots of planning an

Pitch Blog

Pitches: This will be a suspenseful story of a young adolescent who's left home alone and one night some paranormal, unknown things start happening around his house. As a chemist does research, he tries the sample on the corpse and as he turns around, suddenly the corpse is alive. Pitch number one is great. It’s based of a more scary like theme and contains suspense. Traditionally suspense it’s easier to have ideas with as it can go in many ways. Additionally the film itself will be easy to produce and doesn’t contain many props. However this idea will require great acting. Nonetheless this concept is good and has potential. I love the concept of pitch number 2. Like pitch 1, pitch 2 contain a slightly scary more suspenseful concept and makes it easy to come up with. However, the film itself will be very complicated to execute. It will require a lab like setting and will contain many many props which are hard to conceive. Although the concept is good the execution will be

Group Blog

Hello, it appears that we are working on another project, and there have been some minor changes to my normal group. First and foremost, my partner and I gathered together because we both understood that we needed each other to succeed. Our group used to be made up of three people, but after considerable deliberation, we decided to reduce the size of the group. I used to work with Dazira and Makayla, but we concluded that Makayla slacked off and didn't do her job properly. Nonetheless, I wanted to work with Dazira because we get along well and she has working components that I lack. She understands and reasoning in ways that I do not. However, Dazira recently relocated, and we are now further apart. This could be a problem for her, despite the fact that she is a very talented and skilled individual. I met Dazira as a common friend of my close friend Kayden; she's laid-back and hilarious, and we'll have a fantastic dynamic. We've already done a lot of work together, ther

In 2007 I was born in the USA and lived two great years here. However my parents grew up in Argentina, and when I was two they decided to move back. We lived there for around 6 years which was most of my childhood. Although after these 6 years we had to leave because Argentina has been through severe economic crisis. It was a hard decision for my parents leaving their country, leaving their friends but they had to do what best for the family. When we returned to the United States, I had to start fourth grade with no knowledge of English. This was a painful experience and having to tart from scratch made thing very difficult. However my  Middle School came, and I eventually managed to obtain good grades, meet a lot of friends, and have a nice overall school experience. Almost all of my buddies from middle school transferred to Fort Lauderdale High School, which has improved my entire experience here. Almost every class I attend has a friend I can chat to, and a friend who can provide a
