CCR!

In this song, the music follows this story telling genre, where the song explains a story through-out the song. In this case, the film had this sad very slow theme, which I chose to express with conventions such as close up shots, acting, dark lighting, all to produce a sadder genre that corresponded better with the song. In this case the issue of the song was internal and within the actor, and through the song I try to produce this sensation of the actor battling this struggle of confidence, until we get to the “beat drop” of the song. This is what’s called the turning point of the story, and will often bring a big change to a narrative. In this case the character finds confidence, and we change the conventions change into faster paced shots, brighter lighting, far away shots, happier acting, all which convey this happier and faster genre. This type of problem-solution concept gives the song meaning, and makes an easy way to portray a song. Many times, popular artists are able to market their song by acting in it. Like how it was done in “Lose Yourself”, having the artists familiar face is always a plus as it highly attracts a broader audience. Overall, this engages with the audience as they feel better connected with the song, and feel better entertained. Additionally, these songs are often distributed with sites like YouTube, which are also beneficial as they allow for people to discover the song, is free to use, and can be accessed at any time, all which have a positive effect on the song. These things allow for a music videos to better engage with the audience, while also expanding their viewers. Currently this has become my second film, and my skills have undoubtably grown. I’m able to better do many things which include managing, acting, editing, filming, etcetera. For instance, is you look back on my first film, I often cut out my head or legs, my acting was rather cheap, and the editing was often choppy and less smooth. In comparison to this film, I was able to get far more into character, I specially made sure that the filming was clean and consistent, and I have learned many editing tricks such as changing lighting, controlling sound levels, how to better time my cuts, etcetera. All these things Have improved my film far beyond I though I was capable of, and at this rate I will be able to vastly improve my skills. Through the film, my crew and I utilized our phones and laptops. For example, I shot the video on my iPhone, and took care of the editing on my laptop. We also attempted to divide the editing amongst us so that I would have less work, and we opted to work cooperatively to be more efficient. This time, I experimented with various editing applications but ended up selecting Capcut because it's incredibly straightforward and easy to use. I also oversaw the editing and attempted to accomplish my vision. Overall, this was the most significant stage because it literally transformed the commercial from a bunch of clips to a well-formatted art work.
