In this song, the music follows this story telling genre, where the song explains a story through-out the song. In this case, the film had this sad very slow theme, which I chose to express with conventions such as close up shots, acting, dark lighting, all to produce a sadder genre that corresponded better with the song. In this case the issue of the song was internal and within the actor, and through the song I try to produce this sensation of the actor battling this struggle of confidence, until we get to the “beat drop” of the song. This is what’s called the turning point of the story, and will often bring a big change to a narrative. In this case the character finds confidence, and we change the conventions change into faster paced shots, brighter lighting, far away shots, happier acting, all which convey this happier and faster genre.
